You may not be producing a podcast for your association, but you should definitely be listening to some – both for yourself and on behalf of your association. See, podcasts are a great source of inspiration and professional development, and the more you’re able to listen to them/soak up ideas, the more you’ll be able to do for your association.
So what podcasts should you be listening to? Here’s a list to get you started:
1. Beyond the To Do List | Personal Productivity Perspectives
Ever feel like your to-do list OWNS you? And not only that, but no matter how much you get done, you’re still not making progress? We feel your pain. But that’s where this podcast comes in handy! Erik Fisher, productivity podcaster, author, and coach, talks with a multitude of real people about the productivity strategies they use in their personal and professional lives. You’ll hear stories of failure and success, but more importantly, you’ll realize you’re not alone in this ongoing (and often exhausting) struggle.
Get ready to be inspired! In this podcast, Lewis Howes, New York Times bestselling author, lifestyle entrepreneur, and former pro athlete, talks with all sorts of people (successful business people, world-class athletes, influential celebrities, etc.) to find out what makes great people, well, great. He explores common characteristics of successful people and uncovers the importance (and pattern) of resilience.
We all want to be driven, right? But finding that drive…eh, not always so easy. (Especially on those rainy Mondays or dreary afternoons.) In this podcast though, Brendon Burchard, a high performance expert and New York Times best-selling author, taps into what drives us and makes us feel alive (which he refers to as a charged life). He offers insights regarding motivation, success, high-performance, and everything needed to live a fully-charged life.
4. 48 Days to the Work You Love
This podcast covers a lot, but it’s all about finding your true calling and work you genuinely love. It’s hosted by Dan Miller, author of the widely acclaimed 48 Days to the Work You Love and No More Mondays, and it’s the number one career podcast on iTunes. If that doesn’t spark your interest, we don’t know what will!
If you’re in a position of leadership (or aspire to be in a position of leadership), you may want to check out this podcast, Manager Tools. It’s hosted by Mike Auzenne and Mark Horstman and covers a variety of topics from how to run your staff meeting and conduct performance reviews to how to scan a resume and get your emails read.
So there you have it! Five podcasts to inspire you and make you better at what you do. What other podcasts would you recommend for association pros? Let us know in the comments below!
