Currently member expiration and group settings can only be automatically updated when using an Application Form. Our event form includes options to renew or join, but someone has to manually review all entries then manually update the affected profiles. Please make these updates happen automatically (the code obviously exists in the application form world, pull it on over to the events form, please).
